Dure-mère lets out its first cry on the night of May 16th 2005. Abandoned at birth by its parents, the child brings itself up alone, from basements to venues and from bars to squats... Three-headed, it feeds on bandoneón, drums, strings and nameless contraptions. Sometimes it screams. As a teenager it is (un)skillfully labeled rock, noise, tango, experimental, jazz, grunge... but like any good orphan Dure-mère disowns all those adoptive parents. About a hundred gigs later, with a bad education, psychologically unsure and physically weakened, the young adult nevertheless longs to become king of the world and die with care and frugality.
